Middle McCloud Falls Detail
Far less crowded than nearby Burney Falls, Middle McCloud Falls is equally as spectacular. A similarly switchbacked hike down the trail from the parking area reveals a robust and picturesque waterfall tumbling into a boulder-strewn swimming hole. Early in the morning at sunrise is a perfect time for serenity and complete solitude. I recommend wearing water resistant clothing, sturdy hiking boots and carrying ample amounts of lens cloths if you’re like me, and want to get down and dirty for photographic compositions – the cool spray was a welcome respite on a summer day.
