Autumn Palette, Coconino National Forest
Fleeing the crowds of Sedona, I much preferred the quiet solitude of an early morning spent in shady Oak Creek Canyon, where I became very enamored of these ephemeral white trees with vibrant autumn foliage, preferring to photograph these in lieu of the surrounding red rock landscape. A beautiful species of rugged, perennial tree, Arizona sycamores are commonly found growing along streams that requires access to ground water to thrive.
