Tamarisk Blossoms
From a strictly aesthetic standpoint, these pink shrubs growing all along the banks of Cache Creek in Colusa County are so vibrant against the green hills. They so captured my interest, that Chris and I returned early this morning to photograph them. It turns out, they are a non-native, invasive species called Tamarisk, and attempts to eradicate them have apparently been unsuccessful, which is sad to hear because they're so gorgeous.
