Mobius Arch and Lone Pine Peak
If you've ever been to Mobius Arch in the Alabama Hills, then you know how ironically limited the space is to photograph it. You have to balance your tripod on a boulder adjacent to the arch to get a shot of Lone Pine Peak through the arch. Once there is more than one photographer in this situation, it becomes very challenging to photograph. It was partially for this reason, that we camped here on a Sunday night with the intention of photographing the arch at night and sunrise early Monday morning, only to have overcast skies obscuring the night skies until sunrise. Because of the thick cloud cover, I didn't get the alpenglow on Lone Pine Peak as I had hoped, but I really can't complain about the beautiful scene we had regardless. It was just Chris and I and the mosquitoes!
